Well, the air is a little crisper, the days are shorter and Maya's first Halloween has arrived. Lots of stuff has happened since last post, so I'll just get started. :)
BOO! Here's part of the rattlesnake Jared shot late one night. The dogs were barking and carrying on like crazy near the fence, Jared went out there to check on what was going on and found himself a rattler. He was beside himself with the opportunity to use his shotgun. This is the result. Rattlesnakes=bad.

sleepy baby

Fall also brings nice big, crisp apples. Honeycrisp are our favorite. Maya tries to take a bite.

Maya looooves to bang on the window and this time Peanut came over to take a look.

Don't know if you can see them, but there were two baby racoons in the top of one of our trees one day. They were scared, somehow got into our backyard and no one, including the dogs, horses and cows, would let them leave. They probably tried to escape five times before they were successful! If you click on the picture, you'll see a bigger image and a little clearer!

Here you see Diesel refuses to allow the racoons into his yard. He went back and forth on either side of that post, the racoons just gave up and ran back up the tree. Again, click on the image and you'll see a close up. CUTE!
