Play, Play, Play

Hello there!

Guess we've been busy, eh? Lots of stuff has happened over the last couple months...biggest thing is that Maya will be a big sister. Yup, we did it again. Baby sister will be here this August and we're beyond excited and nervous. Maya doesn't quite understand what's going on and why Mama can't lift her up as well as she use to, or why we keep asking her silly questions like "what do you want to call your little sister?"

Maya has been doing a lot of playing. So much so that I haven't had time to take pictures! I have managed to take a few so I'll show you how our little sprout has grown since the first of the year.Miss Maya amazes us every day with what comes out of her mouth. Some funny as heck and some not so funny, making us realize that she really IS a sponge and she is always listening! She loves, loves, loves to sing and dance...her favorite song right now is "twinkle, twinkle little star". She especially loves it if you sing along with her. Some other favorite things to recite are: one, two, buckle my shoe, itsy bitsy spider, rock-a-bye baby, Mary had a little lamb, and row row row your boat.

Spring is here and it couldn't be here a moment sooner. We had a cold, wet winter and I am so glad that it is over. We'll be celebrating Cooper and Spencer's first birthday this weekend and I hope the weather is fabulous. Maya and Jared will also be starting swim lessons at the Y on Monday, getting Maya water ready for a hot summer is important! We plan on spending a lot of time in the water this year!

Some other big news, Maya is sleeping in a big girl bed now. About a week ago, she just didn't want to sleep in her crib anymore and we've been sleeping on her twin futon. Today we bought her a real twin bed and she's sleeping on it right now. Sometimes she'll stay all night until 7 or so, sometimes she'll get up at 2. Either way, when she does get up, she comes across the house all by herself and come crawl into bed with us. It's nice being cozy with Maya, but she's a bed-hog and a kicker. Not too comfortable when you're 5 months pregnant! I imagine she'll stay in her bed longer and longer and when she does get up, realizes that she can just play or read. Wish us luck! Next, potty training! Yikes!

Proof we had a nasty winter, SNOW! :)

Maya and I ventured down to San Marcos and
played on a fabulous playground. We met my good friend Sarah
and her kids, Jacob and Olivia.
The only shots I could get of Maya were of her running away!
